Bayport Botswana has built and donated its seventh house for a family in need under the Presidential Housing Appeal.
The latest house was built in Xere Village in Boteti West for Ms Sekgobokano Moilamashi, and was officially handed over to the Moilamashi family by the vice president of Botswana, Mr Slumber Tsogwane.
Before Bayport’s intervention, Mrs Moilamashi lived in one small structure on the yard. In her emotional vote of thanks, she blessed Bayport and the VP for making her dreams of a decent home come true.
The Moilamashi yard was filled with villagers who came to congratulate and celebrate the new house.
The ceremony was disrupted by heavy winds but, according to the VP, who is from the area, such winds are the norm and are considered a special welcome for visitors.
In addition to the seven houses, Bayport Botswana has in recent times sponsored prize giving ceremonies at four primary schools, donated P10 000 to Malaka Primary School, and sponsored the Botswana Karate Open Championships.
